Job Requirements
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as assigned
- maintains proper personal appearance and hygiene
- understands and applies safety and sanitation requirements
- prior experience in a serving or hospitality role preferred
- high school diploma or equivalent
- fluent in English
- capable of following operational policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrates good communication skills including effective reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills with fluent understanding of English
- possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly
- able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, and staff
- demonstrates full understanding and effective application of HACCP and OSHA protocols
- capable of using cleaning chemicals and handling hazardous materials safely
- works in a detail-oriented fashion
Job Duties
- Creates, maintains, and models a high level of service and hospitality in a team-oriented setting
- provides a variety of services in assigned dining room including but not limited to waiting on tables, taking orders, bussing, and setting tables
- ensures that all shift duties are completed both before and after each shift including cleanliness, stocking, and setting up the dining room for holidays or special events
- gains an understanding of the specials on the menu before each shift to answer questions about entrees, sides, desserts, etc
- positively interacts with residents and guests, ensuring all needs are met
- adheres to and understands all safety and sanitation requirements per local, state, and federal regulations
- provides training or direction to other service staff as needed
- maintains proper personal appearance and hygiene according to food and beverage personnel standards
- demonstrates full understanding and application of proper small wares handling
- follows sanitation, food borne illness, and cross-contamination policies
- applies departmental and dining room operational policies, procedures, and etiquette
- reports hazardous conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor or manager
