Job Requirements
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- Have prior experience in customer service or retail preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Capability to use hands and arms for scanning and handling items
- Able to communicate clearly in English
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Able to comply with company appearance and grooming standards
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Ability to complete all company required training
- Able to follow safety and security procedures
Job Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16 years
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple English instructions
- Basic mathematical skills including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and calculating discounts
- Ability to apply common sense in following instructions and solving problems
- Ability to operate cash registers and self-checkout equipment
- Willingness to participate in required training programs
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to maintain professionalism and a positive attitude under pressure
Job Duties
- Take excellent care of customers by satisfying their needs and exceeding expectations
- Accurately and efficiently operate the cash register and self-checkout stations
- Maintain security and control of all cash funds
- Provide courteous, friendly, and prompt customer service at all times
- Assist customers with scanning items and using self-checkout technology
- Follow all company procedures including VIC card savings and proper bagging of groceries
- Comply with state and local laws regarding tobacco and alcohol sales
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the store environment including performing light cleaning and safety checks
- Communicate effectively in English with customers and team members
- Assist fellow associates and support team tasks as needed
