Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year experience in customer service or food service preferred
- valid ServSafe certificate or equivalent food safety certification or ability to attain within six months
- valid driver’s license
- ability to work in extreme temperatures and stand for long periods
- ability to lift twenty-five pounds without assistance
- ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to follow safety rules and procedures
- ability to cooperate with faculty, students, and other employees
Job Qualifications

- knowledge of computer, cash register, and/or food processing equipment related to job functions
- ability to be flexible and handle a variety of tasks

Job Duties
- Perform cooking, preparation, and/or cashiering duties
- use mathematics in handling student and adult accounts and maintain related records
- understand federal, state, and local program regulations
- demonstrate knowledge of meal pattern requirements for a reimbursable meal
- work in extreme temperatures and stand for extended periods
- lift twenty-five pounds without assistance
- operate commercial dining services equipment such as convection ovens, fryers, vertical cutter/mixers, and planetary mixers
- prepare and serve food following meal standards, standardized recipes, and portion control methods
- clean serving lines, workstations, service areas, storage areas, kitchen floors, kitchen equipment and tools
- wash dishes and utensils
- empty refuse as assigned
- assist with catering events including food preparation, setup, service, and cleanup
- cooperate in all activities for efficient school nutrition program functioning
- observe safety rules and report accidents
- take care of equipment and facilities
- practice desirable health and work habits
- maintain helpful attitude toward fellow employees and students
- cooperate fully with faculty, students, and other employees
- provide outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers
- participate in in-service training programs
- deliver food products to remote sites including loading/unloading vehicles, service and cleanup
- perform other duties consistent with goals and objectives
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
