Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- six months related experience and/or training preferred
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- basic mathematical skills including computing rate, ratio, and percent
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- physical ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds with assistance
- availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends
Job Qualifications
- Six months related experience and/or training preferred
- ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- effective verbal communication skills with customers and associates
- ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to apply common sense and problem-solving skills in standardized situations
Job Duties
- Greet all customers and assist in answering questions about merchandise and locating merchandising
- use the S.A.L.E.S. process to help customers find everything on their lists
- complete all company and departmental paperwork accurately including price change bulletins and red tags
- receive, open, and unpack cartons or crates of merchandise checking paperwork against items received
- display and maintain merchandise on shelves, counters or tables following company planogram
- maintain on-hand inventory integrity through cycle counts and adjustments
- follow the nightly maintenance checklist to ensure store recovery and cleanliness
- assist customers with color matching and mixing paint
- operate cash register by scanning merchandise and properly tendering transactions
- engage customers for Ace Rewards participation and provide outstanding customer service
