Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- preferably one year or more of relevant experience
- must successfully pass background and drug test
- read, write and speak the English language clearly
- follow oral and written instructions
- ability to organize, document, and implement detailed records and forms
- excellent communications skills
- excellent customer service skills
- good organizational skills
- excellent keyboarding and computer skills
- computer literacy specifically MS Word for Windows
- working knowledge of mail processes such as postage machine, Federal Express and UPS
- outstanding interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm
- genuine caring for and interest in elderly and handicapped people
- maintain confidentiality of all resident care information
- interact effectively with residents, guests, supervisors and peers
- must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly, and/or emotionally upset
- knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment
- follow safety regulations, reporting injuries or unsafe conditions and work practices to appropriate administrator
- follow acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code
- possess a fundamental understanding of sanitation and cleanliness
- regular, punctual and dependable attendance
- provide assistance to and work directly with staff, residents, family of residents, visitors, government agencies and the general public
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- preferably one year or more of experience in a receptionist or customer service role
- excellent communication skills
- strong organizational skills
- proficient keyboarding and computer skills including MS Word
- ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
- outstanding interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm
- genuine caring attitude for elderly and handicapped people
- knowledge of mail processes such as postage machine, Federal Express, and UPS
- ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with ill, disabled, or elderly persons
- knowledge of residents' rights and safety regulations
Job Duties
- Manages the reception and main office area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image
- greets residents, staff, and visitors and assists them with their inquiries
- performs light paperwork and minimal filing
- connects telephone calls and accepts messages for those not in office
- participates as needed in special department projects
- maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services
- interacts warmly with residents to promote a caring environment
- understands and upholds all aspects of residents' rights including promptly reporting abuse or violations
- assists in maintaining a safe, neat, and clean environment and reports environmental deficiencies
- communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, and staff
- performs all job responsibilities in accordance with safety and infection control procedures
- supports an atmosphere which promotes a homelike environment
- responds promptly to inquiries and requests within established policy
- performs supportive tasks that may be altered depending on circumstances
- completes requirements for in-service training, attendance, uniform, dress codes, and other assigned duties
