Job Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • basic knowledge of medical office operations preferred
  • ability to type 40 words per minute preferred
  • one year of medical office experience preferred
  • knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • experience with electronic medical records preferred

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
  • one year of medical office experience, preferred
  • experience accessing and updating an EMR system, preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and families
  • answer center telephones, distribute faxes, and prepare customer files
  • schedule patient appointments
  • receive and correctly record receipts of patient payments
  • enter, verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
  • obtain insurance verifications, pre-authorizations and pre-determinations
  • process requests for records from outside sources
  • scan data into document imaging software
  • maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved
  • perform any other functions as required by management
