Job Requirements
- Must pass a California criminal background clearance
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Possess, at minimum, a high school diploma or GED
- At least six months of experience with the elderly is desirable
- Must have good leadership and interpersonal skills
- Must be in good physical and mental condition, capable of performing assigned tasks
- Good health must be verified by a health screening performed by a licensed physician, including a chest X-ray or intradermal test for TB
- Must be able to hear, talk, and have a clear vision with or without corrective lenses
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, kneel, and move intermittently during working hours and lift or exert force of up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to perform in a busy environment, subject to frequent interruptions, subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents and family members, subject to falls, infectious diseases, substances, odors
- Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary

Job Duties
- Relieve the Medication Technician for breaks
- Assist residents in all caregiving and document accordingly in the service plan
- Perform assigned housekeeping and laundry tasks daily as assigned and complete the task list daily
- Set up tables and non-perishable items for breakfast and assist in breakfast preparations as directed
- Ensure sufficient stock of all supplies and notify the supervisor of items needing ordering
- Engage and participate in activities with residents as appropriate, and identify, develop, and offer supplies for activities that can help calm agitated, anxious, or aggressive behaviors in coordination with other staff members
- Complete all required paperwork and communication before leaving each shift
- Identify safety hazards and emergencies and immediately report them to the supervisor
- Demonstrate and integrate trainings into daily interventions and interaction with the residents
