Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of custodial/janitorial/meeting setup experience in hotels, hospitals, offices or event requisition conversion experience relative to a commercial facility preferred
- Ability to operate and maintain material handling equipment
- Physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible and irregular hours including evenings and weekends
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and company policies
- Availability to attend training and perform labor-intensive tasks
Job Qualifications
- One to two years of custodial/janitorial/meeting setup experience in hotels, hospitals, offices or event requisition conversion experience relative to a commercial facility preferred
- Ability to become familiar with facility floor plan and acquainted with all sections of the facility
- Ability to operate machinery used by department such as scrubbers, pallet jack, chair carts, trash compactor, cardboard baler, vacuum cleaners and extractors upon training
- Ability to communicate well with all individuals and work as a team player
- Ability to work flexible and irregular hours
- Ability to handle labor-intensive work including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Effective customer service skills and ability to interact politely with guests
- Willingness to adhere to safety and operational policies and procedures
- Ability to read and understand simple English
Job Duties
- Maintains a safe and clean environment
- Review event documents/task lists for area setups/dismantle and complete tasks as instructed
- Coordinate equipment movement in a safe, efficient manner
- Maintain inventory in proper storage areas
- Operate material handling equipment as necessary
- Maintain appropriate stock of supplies and equipment to perform assigned tasks
- Cleanup spills, breakages, and debris in the facility as required
- Cleanup and restock bathroom facilities as required
- Perform general janitorial functions such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, stripping composite floors, extracting carpet, washing glass/windows/mirrored surfaces, washing walls, cleaning stainless steel, dusting, replenishing supplies, bailing cardboard, rubbish, and debris removal
- Dispose of all waste, including bulk trash removal from building in all areas
- Attend and conform to all policies established by ASM Global in the successful performance of this position
- Read and understand simple English
- Interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner, initiating contact within 10 feet by smiling, saying 'Good Day', or offering assistance
- Feel comfortable around large groups or speaking to guests as needed
- Understand the importance of providing customer service and that 'The Magic is in the Details'
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
