The hiring establishment is a school district facility management team committed to maintaining clean, safe, and well-maintained school environments. The school district manages multiple schools and educational buildings, ensuring that these facilities provide a safe and welcoming space for students, faculty, and visitors alike. The team is responsible for custodial services, upkeep of both the interior and exterior of the properties, and maintenance tasks critical to the longevity and safety of the buildings. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience in janitorial trade
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Ability to handle hazardous materials safely
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties
- Must carry hand-held radio if assigned
- Must remain on school property during work hours
- Availability to adjust lunch schedule as required
- Permission required to leave campus during work hours
- Ability to assist in emergency situations
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum one year of janitorial or custodial trade experience
- Knowledge of construction or facilities maintenance
- Ability to follow safety and OSHA procedures
- Ability to clean and sanitize various school environments
- Good physical stamina and reliability
- Effective communication skills
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training
Job Duties
- Clean assigned interior areas including hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, and multi-purpose rooms
- Clean exterior assigned areas such as school building perimeter, parking lot, playground, and windows
- Empty trash from all trash receptacles
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment, window sills, air vents and other assigned areas
- Clean and sterilize restroom facilities
- Clean up bodily messes including vomit, feces, urine and blood as trained
- Remove waste in cafeteria during breakfast and lunch
- Assist with cleaning cafeteria tables
- Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria floors
- Sterilize high use areas to reduce spread of bacteria and harmful agents
- Assist Head Custodian with cleaning projects and tasks
- Assist in building preventative maintenance processes and monitoring systems
- Travel to nearby schools or warehouse/storage as needed
- Participate in training programs to improve skills and proficiency
- Stay updated with janitorial developments and job related information
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and safety procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Follow federal and state laws and company policies
