Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two years of prior culinary or restaurant experience preferred
  • valid food handler certification if applicable
  • demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a high-volume kitchen
  • proficiency in kitchen sanitation standards and food safety regulations
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen duties
  • excellent communication skills
  • flexible schedule including availability for evenings, weekends and holidays
  • ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of previous experience in restaurant and/or culinary experience in a high volume, full service restaurant is preferred
  • food handler certification (if applicable)
  • trained in knife skills and basic kitchen equipment usage
  • ability to work independently with minimal direction or supervision
  • strong time management and organizational skills
  • proven ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • positive interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with diverse personalities
  • flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to the guests in a timely manner
  • stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
  • prepare, execute, and present items according to specifications
  • know and comply consistently with standard portion size, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • implement proper sanitation practices to prevent spoiling and contamination of foods while ensuring compliance with health regulations
  • maintain a clean work station area including all assigned kitchen equipment
  • assist in the daily cleaning of the pantry, cooking line, prep kitchen, dish area, stairs, walk-in and prep area
  • report any maintenance or repairs needed to the Executive Chef
  • follow departmental policies as well as restaurant rules and regulations set forth by management and the Employee Handbook
