Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18
  • high school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
  • possess a valid, unexpired, and unsuspended REAL ID-compliant state driver’s license
  • willingness to work a variety of rotating shifts including days, nights, overnights, holidays, weekends, and rotating days off
  • flexibility to work additional hours on short notice
  • ability to carry, bend, lift, and turn with bags and other items up to 75 lbs
  • customer focused and detail oriented
  • comfortable using computers and learning new programs
  • ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
  • legal authorization to work in the United States
  • able to communicate verbally and in writing
  • strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • preferred above average attendance
  • preferred Spanish language skills in some locations
  • preferred one year customer service experience
  • preferred prior training or curriculum development experience
  • preferred experience with Word and Excel

  • one year of customer service experience preferred
  • prior training or curriculum development experience preferred
  • experience using Word and Excel preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide efficient, friendly service to all customers
  • promote and sell air travel with American Eagle and American Airlines and/or contracted carriers
  • complete necessary arrangements for passengers including itineraries, fare computation, issuing tickets and refunds, baggage check, and excess baggage charges
  • escort passengers safely to and from aircraft
  • manage reservations, stand-bys, luggage, cabin availability, and in-flight supplies
  • determine flight close-out times and prepare, complete, and check flight forms for accuracy
  • conduct agent observations and associate activities
  • administer local training programs including scheduling and manpower utilization
  • maintain supplies and inventory control logs
  • prepare customer correspondence, investigate discrepancies, compile statistical data for reports
  • assist management with administrative duties and act as company representative when assigned
  • work in environments with engine fumes, emissions, dust, and noise
  • perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, lifting, and using finger dexterity
  • handle baggage weighing up to 75 lbs
  • operate mobile mechanical jet-bridge safely
  • use depth perception and peripheral vision for jet-bridge positioning
  • open and close aircraft cabin doors manually
