Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum six months related experience desirable
- California criminal background clearance
- excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- good leadership and interpersonal skills
- good physical and mental condition
- health screening including TB test
- ability to hear, talk, and see clearly
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
- ability to work in a busy and emotionally challenging environment
- willingness to work beyond scheduled hours and in different positions when needed
Job Qualifications
- Must pass a California criminal background clearance
- must possess excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- at minimum, possess a high school diploma or GED
- at least six months of related experience is desirable
- must have good leadership and interpersonal skills
- must be in good physical and mental condition, capable of performing assigned tasks
- good health must be verified by a health screening performed by a licensed physician, including a chest X-ray or intradermal test for TB
- must be able to hear, talk, and have a clear vision with or without corrective lenses
- must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, kneel, and move intermittently during working hours and lift or exert force of up to 50 lbs
- must be able to perform in a busy environment, subject to frequent interruptions, hostile and emotionally upset residents and family members, falls, infectious diseases, substances, and odors
- must be willing to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary
Job Duties
- Wash bed frames and mattresses
- replace soiled drapery dividers
- keep utility and storage rooms clean and orderly
- clean shutters, shades, cornice boxes, wash windows, door panels, baseboards, and sills
- clean and stock housekeeping cart
- clean and maintain resident and staff bathrooms
- disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies
- clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- sweep and mop floors
- dust furniture and equipment
- wash down walls, ceiling, and woodwork
- empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the disposal area
- perform all duties as assigned in the Housekeeping Checklist
- prepare breakfast for residents
- provide additional resident care and support such as dressing, feeding, activity participation, and behavioral interventions
