Job Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment
- Knowledge of sanitation standards for public facilities
- Experience with power cleaning equipment operation
- Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning tasks
- Good oral communication skills
- Prior housekeeping experience in a large, multi-building setting preferred
Job Duties
- Follow the Science Museum's cleaning protocols to ensure all areas are clean
- Clean event spaces before, during, and after events
- Operate power cleaning equipment such as buffers and vacuum cleaners
- Maintain cleanliness across four levels of the museum throughout the day
- Lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Perform a variety of cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
