Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • must have open availability weekdays and weekends
  • must be able to speak and understand basic English
  • basic reading, writing, and math skills required
  • background in housekeeping or janitorial service
  • must be honest and dependable
  • must enjoy working around people and be a team player
  • must maintain a neat and clean appearance
  • flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • must be able to push and pull carts and equipment
  • must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • must be able to bend, stoop, and stretch
  • comply with safety and chemical handling procedures
  • complete required pre-employment screenings and provide proof of work eligibility

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to speak and understand basic English
  • basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • background in housekeeping or janitorial service
  • luxury housekeeping experience preferred
  • individual must be honest, dependable, and like being in a position of responsibility
  • must enjoy working around people and be a team player within guest service framework
  • must have a neat and clean appearance
  • must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends and holidays
  • must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation
  • must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
  • must be able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours a day
  • must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning and inspection tasks

Job Duties

  • Attend and participate in daily pre-shift meetings
  • clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, and sanitizing bathrooms
  • clean room refrigerators, coffee/tea maker, cups, glasses
  • wear safety protection equipment provided and follow safety regulations
  • handle and store chemicals according to hotel and local legislative requirements
  • greet and acknowledge guests, answer questions
  • communicate room status via phone system when service is completed
  • report rooms unable to service to supervisor
  • document deficiencies or damages and report to supervisor
  • follow established safety procedures and report any incidents promptly
  • respond to guest special requests for satisfaction
  • be familiar with hotel recycling and green cleaning programs
  • report and log lost and found items
  • maintain and stock assigned housekeeping carts
  • work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other departments
  • assist with deep cleaning projects regularly
  • occasionally assist with room turndown duties
  • perform related duties as assigned
