Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have open availability weekdays and weekends
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours daily with or without accommodation
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to perform cleaning and inspection tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to speak and understand basic English
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Background in housekeeping or janitorial service
  • Luxury housekeeping experience preferred
  • Honest, dependable, and responsible
  • Enjoy working around people and being a team player
  • Neat and clean appearance
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Attend and participate in daily pre-shift meetings
  • Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash
  • Clean room refrigerators, coffee and tea makers, cups, glasses, etc
  • Wear safety protection equipment and handle chemicals in line with hotel and local regulations
  • Greet and acknowledge guests, answer questions
  • Communicate room status via phone system to establish when service is completed
  • Report rooms unable to service to supervisor
  • Document any deficiencies or damages found in rooms using the ticketing platform and report to supervisor
  • Follow safety procedures and report any incidents or suspicious behavior to supervisor or manager on duty
  • Respond to guest special requests and take action to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Be familiar with hotels recycling program and green cleaning initiatives
  • Report and log all lost and found items according to procedures
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, empty and stock at end of each shift
  • Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other departments
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects and occasional room turndown duties
  • Perform related duties as assigned
