- Must successfully complete restaurant's training course
- ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Previous experience as a host or hostess preferred
- excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- ability to operate point-of-sale systems
- excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Job Duties
- Greet guests and escort them at their table or within waiting area
- provide guests with menus
- assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs and according to the rotation so that servers receive an appropriate amount of seating
- speak with patrons to ensure satisfaction with food and service, to respond to complaints, or to make conversation
- answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls when needed
- take and prepare to-go orders
- operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages
- maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly, and customers' concerns are addressed
- inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup
- supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to ensure that patrons receive prompt and courteous service
- receive and record patrons' dining reservations
- inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and clean restrooms when necessary
- plan parties or other special events and services
- help coworkers to improve workflow and customer service
- perform other related duties as assigned
