Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer
  • Less than 1 year of experience using retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to lift items up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
  • Experience as a head cashier preferred
  • Experience working in any Lowe's retail department
  • Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
  • Ability to detect common signs of shoplifting
  • Knowledge of retail technology and cash register operation

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approaches and interacts with customers to recommend products and services
  • Greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers
  • Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product
  • Thanks customers and invites them to shop again
  • Provides SMART customer service by following Lowe's policies
  • Assists customers in locating, selecting, and loading merchandise
  • Responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Communicates product information, warranty, and benefits
  • Coaches, develops, and trains associates
  • Processes sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers
  • Supervises and supports CSA Front End Team
  • Removes security tags and bags merchandise
  • Answers and directs incoming phone calls
  • Opens additional registers as needed
  • Assists in line vesting for quicker checkout
  • Prepares register area and stocks supplies
  • Inspects returned merchandise for damages
  • Enters and submits customer orders
  • Reviews and places online orders
  • Verifies price matches
  • Records store use items
  • Monitors cash drawer limits and obtains safety bags
  • Monitors store entrances and assists with alarms
  • Detects shoplifting signs and reports to management
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of store
  • Maintains a safe work environment
  • Adheres to safety requirements and operates store equipment
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned
