Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting and accessing information
- less than 1 year of experience using retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience
- must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
- willingness to stand, walk, bend, and reach frequently during shifts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- experience supervising or leading a team preferred
- strong communication and customer service skills
- ability to multitask effectively in a busy retail environment
- knowledge of retail technology such as cash registers and mobile devices
- familiarity with store safety and security procedures
Job Duties
- Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Proactively greet and engage with customers offering product and service recommendations
- Supervise and provide coaching to front-end team members including cash handling and register activities
- Open additional registers as needed to manage customer flow efficiently
- Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using the cash register
- Inspect and handle returned merchandise for damages and proper placement
- Maintain store safety and security by monitoring for shoplifting and enforcing safety protocols
