Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
- Experience with credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and warranties
- 1 to 2 years as a head cashier preferred
- 1 to 2 years of experience working in any Lowe's retail department
- Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Experience detecting common signs of shoplifting
Job Duties
- Assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Proactively recommend products and services to customers
- Greet, assist, and engage with customers in the checkout area
- Ensure accurate completion of transactions
- Provide SMART customer service following company policies
- Help customers locate, demonstrate, select, carry, and load merchandise
- Respond knowledgeably to customer and employee questions
- Coach, develop, and train associates
- Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register
- Provide monetary change to front-end associates
- Supervise and support front-end team members
- Remove security tags and bag merchandise
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Open additional registers as needed
- Assist in line vesting for quicker checkout
- Prepare register area and stock supplies
- Inspect returned merchandise for damages
- Enter and process customer orders
- Verify price matches with competitors
- Record store use items
- Monitor cash drawer limits and obtain safety bags
- Supervise store entrances and exits
- Detect and report security risks
- Maintain cleanliness and store organization
- Conduct daily safety reviews and secure doors
- Follow safety protocols relevant to job duties
- Operate various store equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
