Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in a Lowe's retail store department preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees preferred
  • Less than a year of retail experience detecting signs of shoplifting preferred

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services
  • Greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
  • Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
  • Provides SMART customer service through daily execution of Lowe's policies, procedures, and programs
  • Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
  • Listens and responds knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, assisting in store projects when necessary
  • Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
  • Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to guidelines
  • Provides supervision, coaching, and support to CSA Front End Team
  • Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers
  • Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls or takes messages
  • Opens additional registers to ensure adequate coverage
  • Assists in line vesting to improve checkout turnaround time
  • Prepares register area at beginning and end of shifts
  • Inspects returned merchandise for damages
  • Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, and signs off on loading tickets
  • Reviews and places online orders and returned merchandise in correct areas
  • Looks up product information and competitor prices to verify price match
  • Records items used in the store on store use lists
  • Monitors cash drawer amounts and obtains safety bags
  • Monitors merchandise entering and leaving store and assists with alarms
  • Detects signs of shoplifting and promptly communicates to management
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain store cleanliness and organization
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment by conducting safety reviews and noting hazards
  • Adheres to all safety requirements relevant to job duties
  • Operates store equipment as needed including phones, pagers, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV, key cutters, panel saws, paint mixers, flooring cutters, compacter balers
  • Performs other duties as assigned
