Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of computer experience including inputting and accessing information
- Less than 1 year of experience using retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience preferred
- Ability to coach and develop associates
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience with sales transactions and cash handling
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services
- Greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers at the same time
- Moves throughout checkout area to ensure accurate transaction completion
- Thanks customers and invites them to shop at Lowe's
- Provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's policies and procedures
- Assists customers with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Responds promptly to customer and employee questions
- Coaches and provides feedback to associates
- Processes sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash register
- Provides supervision and support to front-end team
- Removes security tags and bags merchandise
- Answers and directs incoming phone calls
- Opens additional registers as needed
- Prepares register area and stocks supplies
- Inspects returned merchandise
- Enters and submits customer orders
- Verifies price match and competitor prices
- Monitors safety bags and cash drawer limits
- Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates with management
- Maintains store cleanliness and safety
- Operates store equipment as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
