Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of computer experience including inputting and modifying information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years retail experience as a cashier
  • Experience recommending and selling products based on customer needs
  • Supervisory experience including training and coaching employees preferred
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and team members
  • Basic computer and retail technology skills
  • Knowledge of shoplifting prevention methods preferred

Job Duties

  • Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Proactively recommend products and services to customers
  • Greet, assist, and engage with customers at checkout
  • Ensure accurate transaction completion through product handling
  • Thank customers and encourage repeat visits
  • Provide SMART customer service following company policies
  • Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, and selecting merchandise
  • Answer customer inquiries and guide them through projects
  • Coach and train associates in departmental duties
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers
  • Support CSA Front End associates with register activities
  • Supervise and coach front-end cashier team
  • Remove security tags and bag merchandise
  • Handle incoming calls and direct appropriately
  • Open additional registers as needed
  • Assist in checkout line management
  • Prepare register area and stock supplies
  • Inspect returned merchandise
  • Manage online orders and receipts
  • Verify price matches and record store-used items
  • Monitor cash drawer and store entrances for security
  • Detect and report signs of theft and shoplifting
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of store areas
  • Conduct safety reviews and ensure safe work environment
  • Operate store equipment as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
