Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in any Lowe's retail department
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
  • Less than a year of retail experience detecting signs of shoplifting

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
  • Proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
  • Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
  • Thanks the customer for their business and invites them back to shop at Lowes
  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the execution of Lowe's customer service policies
  • Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
  • Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
  • Provides supervision, coaching, and support to CSA Front End Team
  • Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
  • Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls or takes messages
  • Opens additional registers to ensure adequate coverage
  • Assists in line vesting for quicker checkout turnaround
  • Prepares register area by confirming functionality of registers and scanners and stocking supplies
  • Inspects returned merchandise for damages
  • Enters and submits customer orders and verifies receipts
  • Places online orders and returned items in appropriate areas
  • Looks up product information and competitor prices for price match
  • Records items used in the store on store use lists
  • Monitors cash in drawers to ensure compliance
  • Observes and assists customers or associates who trigger alarms
  • Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates to management
  • Ensures store cleanliness and organization according to housekeeping standards
  • Maintains safe work environment including safety reviews and hazard identification
  • Adheres to safety requirements like use of aisle blockers, spotters, and safety devices
  • Operates store equipment such as phones, paging system, CCTV, and tools relevant to the department
  • Performs other assigned duties as needed
