Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- One to two years of retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One to two years of retail cashier experience
- Experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs
- Experience with credit card, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and warranty explanations
- One to two years of supervisory experience
- Retail experience in any Lowe's department
- Ability to listen and respond knowledgeably to customer inquiries
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to coach, develop, and train associates
Job Duties
- Monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Proactively greet, assist, and engage with customers on multiple registers
- Recommend products and services appropriately
- Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register
- Provide proper monetary change to front-end associates
- Open additional registers to ensure adequate coverage
- Remove security tags and bag merchandise for customers
- Answer phone calls and direct or take messages
- Prepare register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies
- Inspect returned merchandise for damages
- Enter and submit customer orders and print order tickets
- Review and place online orders and returned merchandise correctly
- Look up product information and competitor prices for price matching
- Record store-used items
- Monitor cash drawers to ensure cash limits
- Assist customers or associates triggering security alarms
- Detect signs of shoplifting and promptly communicate to management
- Maintain cleanliness and organization following housekeeping standards
- Conduct daily safety reviews and maintain a safe work environment
- Operate store equipment as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
