Job Requirements
- less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience
- ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
- experience with credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, warranties, and product features
- experience as a head cashier preferred
- experience working in any Lowe's retail department
- supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- retail experience detecting signs of shoplifting
Job Duties
- monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers
- approach and interact with customers to proactively recommend products and services
- proactively greet, assist, and engage with multiple customers simultaneously
- move throughout checkout area performing physical activities to ensure accurate transactions
- thank customers and invite them to return
- provide SMART customer service by following Lowe's policies and procedures
- assist customers in locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- respond to customer and employee questions and walk them through projects
- communicate product features, benefits, warranties, and programs
- coach, develop, provide feedback, and train associates
- operate cash registers for sales, returns, and refunds
- provide monetary change for register activities
- supervise and support front end team
- remove security tags and bag merchandise
- answer and direct incoming phone calls
- open additional registers when necessary
- assist in line vesting for efficient checkout
- prepare register area and stock supplies
- inspect returned merchandise
- manage customer orders and loading tickets
- verify price matches and product information
- record store-used items
- obtain safety bags and monitor cash drawer limits
- monitor store entrances for security
- detect and communicate shoplifting and security risks
- maintain cleanliness and organization of store and work areas
- ensure safety compliance including use of safety devices
- operate store equipment relevant to the role
- perform additional assigned duties as necessary
