Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience preferred
  • Experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Basic computer and retail technology proficiency
  • Ability to coach and support team members
  • Knowledge of safety and loss prevention protocols preferred

Job Duties

  • Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Proactively greet and engage customers to recommend products and services
  • Stand, walk, bend, and lift to facilitate accurate transaction completion
  • Provide SMART customer service following Lowe's policies and procedures
  • Assist customers in locating, selecting, and loading merchandise
  • Use cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds
  • Coach and support front-end associates and manage register activities
  • Remove security tags and bag merchandise
  • Answer phone calls and direct or take messages
  • Open additional registers to maintain checkout coverage
  • Prepare registers at the start and end of shifts
  • Inspect and process returned merchandise
  • Enter, submit, and verify customer orders
  • Review and place online orders and returned merchandise
  • Look up product information and verify price matches
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the store
  • Detect signs of theft and communicate to management
  • Operate store equipment as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
