Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- less than 1 year of experience using retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- experience identifying and selling products to meet customer needs
- experience with credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and warranties
- supervisory experience with directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees preferred
- knowledge of shoplifting detection signs preferred
- strong customer service skills
- ability to operate cash registers and related technology
- good communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services
- Proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers
- Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
- Thanks customers and invites them back to shop at Lowe's
- Provides SMART customer service in adherence to Lowe's policies and procedures
- Assists customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Responds to customer and employee questions knowledgeably and promptly
- Coaches, develops, and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
- Uses a cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds
- Provides supervision and coaching to CSA Front End Team
- Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
- Handles incoming phone calls professionally
- Opens additional registers to ensure adequate coverage
- Assists in line vesting to expedite checkout
- Prepares registers at shift start and end, ensuring functionality
- Inspects returned merchandise for damage
- Enters and submits customer orders and verifies receipts
- Reviews and places online orders appropriately
- Looks up product information and competitor prices for price matching
- Records store-used items accurately
- Monitors cash in registers to ensure compliance
- Oversees merchandise entering and leaving store entrances
- Detects and reports signs of shoplifting or security risks
- Maintains cleanliness and organization under store housekeeping standards
- Upholds a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews and securing premises
- Operates store equipment as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
