Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting and modifying information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
- Experience explaining credit cards, protection plans, and warranties
- Experience as a head cashier preferred
- Experience working in any Lowe's retail department
- Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Knowledge of retail security practices to detect shoplifting
Job Duties
- Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Proactively recommend products and services to customers
- Greet and engage with customers to provide excellent service
- Stand, walk, reach, bend, lift, and move products to complete transactions accurately
- Thank customers and invite them to shop again at Lowe's
- Provide SMART customer service following company policies and procedures
- Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Respond promptly to customer and employee questions
- Coach, develop, and train associates in departmental duties
- Use cash registers to process sales, returns, and refunds
- Provide supervision and coaching to Front End associates
- Remove security tags and bag merchandise
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Open additional registers to ensure coverage
- Assist with line vesting to speed checkout
- Prepare register area at shift start and end
- Inspect returned merchandise for damages
- Manage customer orders and online order verification
- Handle price matching by researching product and competitor prices
- Record store-used inventory items
- Monitor cash amounts and obtain safety bags from cash office
- Monitor store entrances for security and assist customers triggering alarms
- Detect and report signs of shoplifting and theft
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization
- Ensure safe work environment and adherence to safety protocols
- Operate store equipment as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
