Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier

  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees preferred
  • less than a year of retail experience detecting signs of shoplifting preferred

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
  • proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
  • moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
  • thanks the customer for their business and invites them back to shop at Lowe's
  • provides SMART customer service at all times through execution of Lowe's customer service policies and procedures
  • seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
  • listens to and responds promptly to customer and employee questions by walking them through projects when necessary
  • demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
  • communicates information regarding stock, special orders, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe's programs
  • coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
  • uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines
  • provides proper monetary change to CSA Front End associates
  • provides supervision, coaching, and support to CSA Front End Team
  • removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers
  • answers incoming phone calls and directs calls or takes messages as needed
  • opens additional registers when necessary to ensure coverage
  • assists in line vesting for quicker checkout turnaround
  • prepares register area by confirming functionality of registers and scanners and stocking supplies
  • inspects returned merchandise for damages
  • enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, and signs off on loading tickets
  • reviews and places online orders and returned merchandise appropriately
  • looks up product information and competitor prices to verify price match
  • records items used in the store on store use lists
  • obtains safety bags and monitors cash drawer amounts
  • monitors merchandise entering and leaving store and assists customers or associates who trigger alarms
  • detects signs of shoplifting, theft, and communicates to management or Asset Protection
  • ensures compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • maintains a safe and secure work environment including daily safety reviews and hazard noting
  • adheres to all safety requirements relevant to job duties
  • operates store equipment as needed depending on role and department
  • performs other duties as assigned
