Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
- Must meet company policies for safety and security
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and move products for extended periods
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs
- Experience with credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties
- Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Experience working in any Lowe's retail department
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and handle multiple tasks at once
- Knowledge of retail technology such as registers, smartphones, and tablets
- Basic understanding of security and loss prevention practices
Job Duties
- Demonstrate ability to monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approach and interact with customers to recommend products and services
- Greet, assist, and engage with multiple customers proactively
- Move throughout checkout area and handle product to ensure transaction accuracy
- Provide SMART customer service by executing Lowe's policies and programs
- Assist customers with locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Respond promptly to customer and employee questions and provide project assistance
- Coach and train associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
- Use cash registers to process sales, returns, and refunds
- Provide monetary change to associates for register activities
- Supervise and support front end team members
- Remove security tags and bag merchandise
- Answer incoming calls and direct or take messages
- Open additional registers to ensure coverage
- Assist in line vesting to expedite checkout
- Prepare register area at shift start and end by confirming equipment functionality
- Inspect returned merchandise for damage
- Enter and submit customer orders and verify receipts
- Place online orders and returned merchandise appropriately
- Verify price match with competitor information
- Record items used in the store
- Monitor cash in drawers and obtain safety bags
- Observe store entrances to monitor merchandise and alarms
- Detect shoplifting and other security risks and report them
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements and conduct safety reviews
- Operate store equipment as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
