Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs preferred
  • Experience with credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties preferred
  • Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees preferred
  • Familiarity with detecting shoplifting signs preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Retail technology experience such as smartphones and tablets
  • Ability to lift items up to 15 pounds

Job Duties

  • Monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Proactively greet, assist, and engage with multiple customers on multiple registers
  • Recommend products and services appropriately
  • Move throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate transaction completion
  • Thank customers and invite them to return
  • Provide SMART customer service through execution of company policies
  • Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
  • Respond promptly and knowledgeably to customer and employee questions
  • Communicate product and warranty information
  • Coach, develop, provide feedback, and train associates in departmental duties
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register
  • Provide monetary change to front-end associates
  • Supervise and support front-end team members
  • Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls
  • Open additional registers as needed
  • Assist in line vesting for quicker checkout
  • Prepare register area, inspect returned merchandise
  • Enter and submit customer orders, print order tickets, verify receipts
  • Review and place online and returned merchandise
  • Look up product information and competitor prices
  • Record store use items
  • Monitor cash drawer limits
  • Monitor store entrances for security
  • Detect signs of shoplifting and theft, report promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization through housekeeping standards
  • Ensure a safe work environment including safety reviews and hazard notes
  • Adhere to all safety requirements related to job duties
  • Operate store equipment as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
