Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs
- Familiarity with credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, product warranties, features, and benefits
- Experience as a head cashier
- Experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
- Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Experience detecting common signs of shoplifting
- Ability to use common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approaches and interacts with customers to recommend products and services
- Greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers concurrently
- Moves throughout checkout to ensure accurate transaction completion
- Thanks customers and invites them to shop again at Lowe's
- Provides SMART customer service through adherence to company policies and procedures
- Assists customers with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Listens and responds to customer and employee questions effectively
- Communicates product and warranty information related to Lowe's programs
- Coaches and trains associates on departmental duties
- Processes sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash register
- Provides monetary change to front end associates
- Supervises and supports front end team members
- Handles security tags and merchandise bagging
- Answers incoming phone calls and directs or takes messages
- Opens additional registers to ensure adequate coverage
- Assists in managing checkout lines
- Prepares register area at shift start and end
- Inspects returned merchandise for damages
- Enters and submits customer orders and verifies receipts
- Reviews and organizes online orders and returned merchandise
- Verifies product information and competitor prices
- Maintains store use item records
- Obtains safety bags and monitors cash drawer amounts
- Monitors merchandise movement and alarm triggers at store entrances
- Identifies and reports shoplifting and security risks
- Ensures store cleanliness and organization
- Maintains a safe work environment by conducting safety checks
- Adheres to safety protocols relevant to job duties
- Operates store equipment as required
- Performs additional duties as assigned
