Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience with retail technology like smartphones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds with or without accommodations
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Willingness to adhere to safety and security guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Experience in customer service and sales product knowledge
- Ability to coach and train associates
- Familiarity with retail technology and point of sale systems
- Ability to handle multiple customers simultaneously
- Basic safety and security awareness
- Effective communication skills
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services
- Proactively greets and engages multiple customers on various registers
- Moves throughout checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving products to ensure transaction accuracy
- Thanks customers for their business and invites them to return
- Provides SMART customer service consistently according to Lowe's policies
- Assists customers in locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Listens and responds knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects
- Communicates information on stock, special orders, warranties, and Lowe's programs
- Coaches, develops, and trains associates in departmental duties and sales
- Processes sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register
- Provides monetary change and supervises CSA front-end associates
- Removes security tags, verifies products, and bags merchandise
- Answers incoming calls and directs or takes messages
- Opens additional registers to maintain coverage as needed
- Assists in line vesting for efficient checkout
- Prepares register areas by ensuring equipment functionality and stocking supplies
- Inspects returned merchandise for damages
- Handles customer orders, prints tickets, and verifies receipts
- Reviews online orders and returned merchandise placement
- Verifies price match and product information
- Records store-used items
- Manages safety bags and monitors cash amounts
- Monitors store entrances for security and assists with alarms
- Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates with management
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of store and work areas
- Ensures a safe and secure working environment
- Operates store equipment including phones, paging systems, and machinery
- Performs other assigned duties as needed
