Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
  • Knowledge of credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and warranties
  • Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees preferred
  • Experience working in various Lowe's departments preferred
  • Ability to detect common signs of shoplifting preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Basic computer and retail technology proficiency

Job Duties

  • Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Proactively approach and engage customers to recommend products and services
  • Greet and assist multiple customers concurrently
  • Ensure accurate transactions by moving throughout the checkout area, including handling products
  • Thank customers and invite them to return
  • Provide SMART customer service and execute Lowe's customer service policies and procedures
  • Seek out customers to understand and meet their needs, assisting with product demonstration and selection
  • Respond to customer inquiries and guide them through projects when necessary
  • Coach, develop, train, and provide feedback to associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
  • Use cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to guidelines
  • Supervise, coach, and support Front End associates
  • Remove security tags, verify product information, and bag merchandise
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls
  • Open additional registers to ensure sufficient coverage
  • Assist in line vesting for quicker checkout
  • Prepare register area by checking functionality and stocking supplies
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damages
  • Process customer orders and verify receipts
  • Place online orders and returned merchandise appropriately
  • Verify product information and competitor pricing for price matching
  • Record store-use items
  • Monitor cash amounts in drawers according to requirements
  • Monitor store entrances for security and assist with alarm triggers
  • Detect and communicate signs of shoplifting and theft
  • Maintain store cleanliness and organization following housekeeping standards
  • Uphold safety standards including equipment use and hazard identification
  • Operate store equipment as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
