Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting and accessing information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs
  • experience with credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in any Lowe's retail department
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • approaches and interacts with customers to recommend products and services
  • proactively greets and engages with customers
  • moves throughout checkout area to ensure accurate transaction completion
  • thanks customers for their business and invites them back
  • provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's policies and programs
  • assists customers in locating and selecting merchandise
  • responds knowledgeably to customer questions and guides them through projects
  • communicates stock and product information including warranties
  • coaches and trains associates on departmental duties
  • processes sales, returns, and refunds using cash register
  • supervises and coaches Front End associates
  • removes security tags and bags merchandise
  • opens additional registers to ensure coverage
  • assists in line vesting to speed checkout
  • prepares register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies
  • inspects returned merchandise
  • enters and submits orders
  • reviews and organizes online orders and returns
  • verifies price match and competitor prices
  • records items used in store
  • monitors cash in drawers to ensure compliance
  • observes merchandise flow and assists with alarms
  • detects and reports theft and security risks
  • maintains store cleanliness and organization
  • ensures a safe work environment and adheres to safety protocols
  • operates store equipment such as phones, paging systems, scanners, and surveillance
  • performs other duties as assigned
