Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
  • less than 1 year of retail experience detecting signs of shoplifting

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
  • proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
  • moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
  • thanks the customer for their business and invites them back to shop at Lowe's
  • provides SMART customer service at all times through execution of Lowe's policies and programs
  • seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by taking them to areas of the store and walking them through projects
  • demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
  • communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information
  • coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates
  • uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
  • provides proper monetary change to CSA Front End associates
  • provides supervision and support to CSA Front End Team
  • removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
  • answers incoming phone calls and directs calls or takes messages
  • opens additional registers to ensure sufficient coverage
  • assists in line vesting for quicker turnaround
  • prepares register area at the beginning and end of shifts
  • inspects returned merchandise
  • enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, and verifies receipts
  • reviews and places online orders and returned merchandise
  • looks up product information and competitor prices for price match
  • records all items used in the store on store use lists
  • obtains safety bags and monitors cash in drawers
  • monitors merchandise and assists customers or associates who trigger alarms
  • detects signs of shoplifting, theft, and other risks and communicates them to management
  • ensures compliance with housekeeping and safety standards
  • maintains a safe and secure work environment
  • adheres to safety requirements relevant to regular duties
  • operates store equipment as needed
  • fulfills other assigned duties as required
