Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move products during work
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Good communication and customer service skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Experience selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, and protection plans
  • Experience as a head cashier
  • Experience in any department at a Lowe's retail store
  • Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
  • Awareness of shoplifting detection signs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers
  • Proficiency in using retail technology such as smart phones and tablets

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approaches and interacts with customers to recommend products and services appropriately
  • Provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's policies and procedures
  • Assists customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
  • Uses cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
  • Coaches, develops, and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
  • Monitors store safety, detects shoplifting signs, and communicates risks to management
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of store areas
  • Operates store equipment such as registers, phones, paging systems, and CCTV
  • Answers phone calls and directs messages
  • Opens additional registers when necessary
  • Inspects returned merchandise and handles customer orders
  • Ensures compliance with safety requirements and protocols
  • Performs other duties as assigned
