Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit products, add-on sales, and protection plans
- Experience as a head cashier
- Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Experience working in various departments of a Lowe's store
- Knowledge of retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
- Proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
- Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
- Provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs
- Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Listens and responds knowledgeably to customer questions and walks them through projects when necessary
- Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
- Uses cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to guidelines
- Provides supervision, coaching, and support to Front End team
- Inspects returned merchandise for damages
- Enters and submits customer orders and verifies receipts
- Removes security tags and bags merchandise
- Monitors merchandise entering and leaving the store and assists customers who trigger alarms
- Detects common signs of shoplifting and communicates them to management
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of store and work areas
- Operates store equipment as needed
- Adheres to all safety requirements related to job duties
