Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
  • Ability to coach and develop team members
  • Knowledge of store safety and loss prevention practices
  • Familiarity with retail technology including cash registers and scanners

Job Duties

  • Monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Greet, assist, and engage customers proactively
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash register
  • Provide coaching, development, feedback, and training to associates
  • Prepare register area and maintain operational readiness of registers and scanners
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damages and manage customer orders
  • Assist in loss prevention by detecting and reporting signs of shoplifting or theft
