Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
  • Experience explaining credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, warranties, product features, and benefits
  • Experience as a head cashier preferred
  • Experience working in any department at a Lowe’s retail store
  • Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
  • Knowledge of retail safety and security protocols
  • Effective communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Monitors and identifies customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services
  • Greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
  • Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
  • Thanks customers for their business and invites them back to shop
  • Provides SMART customer service through daily execution of company policies
  • Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
  • Responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
  • Uses cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds
  • Provides proper monetary change for register activities
  • Supervises, coaches, and supports CSA Front End Team
  • Removes security tags and verifies product information
  • Answers phone calls and directs or takes messages
  • Opens additional registers when necessary
  • Assists in line vesting for quick checkout turnaround
  • Prepares register area by confirming functionality of equipment and stocking supplies
  • Inspects returned merchandise for damages
  • Manages customer orders, prints tickets, verifies receipts, and signs off on loading tickets
  • Reviews and places online orders and returned merchandise
  • Looks up product information and competitor prices for price matching
  • Records all used items in the store use lists
  • Obtains safety bags and monitors cash in drawers
  • Monitors merchandise entering and leaving store
  • Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates to management
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of store areas
  • Conducts safety reviews and notes hazards
  • Adheres to safety requirements relevant to job duties
  • Operates store equipment relevant to role
  • Performs other duties as assigned
