Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology
- 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience
- Experience in customer service and product sales
- Knowledge of retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
- Ability to coach and train associates
- Basic understanding of store safety procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with cash register operations
- Ability to recognize security risks and theft indicators
- Supervisory experience preferred
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approaches and interacts with customers to recommend products and services
- Greets and engages with multiple customers proactively
- Moves throughout checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to complete transactions
- Provides SMART customer service following Lowe's policies and procedures
- Assists customers with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Listens and responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them through store projects
- Coaches, develops, and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
- Uses cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
- Provides supervision and coaching to front-end team
- Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
- Opens additional registers as needed to manage customer flow
- Prepares and stocks register area supplies
- Inspects returned merchandise for damage
- Processes customer orders and returns accurately
- Monitors store entrances and recognizes signs of shoplifting and security risks
- Maintains cleanliness and organization through adherence to housekeeping standards
- Ensures compliance with safety protocols and operates store equipment as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
