Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using computers
  • Less than 1 year of experience with retail technology
  • 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience
  • Ability to lift items up to 15 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Must be able to operate retail equipment and technology
  • Willingness to adhere to store safety and security policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Experience identifying customer needs and selling related products
  • Supervisory experience including training and coaching employees
  • Familiarity with retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • Knowledge of store policies on safety and security
  • Effective communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Monitor and assist customers at self-checkout registers
  • Proactively greet and engage multiple customers simultaneously
  • Recommend products and services appropriately
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers
  • Supervise, coach, and support front-end team associates
  • Inspect returned merchandise and prepare register area for shifts
  • Detect and report security risks such as shoplifting
  • Maintain store cleanliness and safety compliance
  • Operate store equipment including scanners, telephones, and CCTV systems
  • Handle customer inquiries and direct phone calls
  • Open additional registers as needed for coverage
  • Assist in line vesting to improve checkout efficiency
