Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting or modifying information
- less than 1 year of experience using retail technology like smartphones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- ability to lift items up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation
- willingness to adhere to safety and store policies
- capability to work standing, walking, and performing physical tasks in the checkout area
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
- supervisory experience including training and coaching employees preferred
- customer service skills
- knowledge of product features, warranties, and benefits
- ability to use cash registers and retail technology
- basic security awareness in retail environments
Job Duties
- Monitors and assists customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- proactively greets and engages customers offering product recommendations
- processes sales transactions, returns, and refunds accurately
- coaches, trains, and provides feedback to front end associates
- removes security tags and bags merchandise for customers
- answers and directs incoming phone calls
- opens additional registers to ensure coverage
- prepares register area and stocks supplies
- inspects returned merchandise for damage
- enters and submits customer orders
- monitors merchandise at store entrances and exits
- detects signs of shoplifting and communicates to management
- maintains store cleanliness and organization
- adheres to safety requirements and operates store equipment as needed
- performs other duties as assigned
