Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and warranties
  • supervisory experience including directing, delegating, training, and coaching employees
  • experience working in any Lowe's retail department
  • knowledge of shoplifting detection

Job Duties

  • Monitor and assist multiple customers at self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • proactively greet and engage customers recommending products and services
  • walk, bend, reach, lift, and move products to complete transactions accurately
  • provide SMART customer service through Lowe's policies and procedures
  • use a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
  • coach, develop, and train associates on department duties and sales opportunities
  • open additional registers to ensure enough coverage
  • inspect merchandise for damages and prepare the register area at shift start and end
  • detect signs of shoplifting and communicate security concerns
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of store areas
  • operate store equipment as required
  • perform other duties as assigned
