Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and warranties
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
  • Less than 1 year of retail experience detecting signs of shoplifting such as merchandise hidden inside containers, under carts, or switched price labels

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
  • Proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
  • Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
  • Thanks the customer for their business and invites them back to shop at Lowe's
  • Provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's customer service policies and programs
  • Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, or loading merchandise
  • Listens and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
  • Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
  • Provides supervision, coaching, and support to front-end team associates
  • Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
  • Handles incoming phone calls and directs them or takes messages as needed
  • Opens additional registers when necessary to ensure coverage
  • Inspects returned merchandise for damages
  • Records items used in the store
  • Monitors merchandise entering and leaving store entrances and exits
  • Detects signs of shoplifting and promptly communicates to management
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of store according to housekeeping standards
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment
  • Operates store equipment such as phones, paging systems, and surveillance systems
  • Performs other duties as assigned
