Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology like smart phones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
- Knowledge of credit card transactions, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and warranties
- Supervisory experience including coaching and training employees preferred
- Ability to use various retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
- Experience working in any department of a Lowe's retail store preferred
Job Duties
- Monitor and assist multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Proactively greet, assist, and engage customers
- Recommend products and services appropriately to customers
- Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register
- Provide coaching and supervision to front-end team associates
- Inspect returned merchandise and handle customer orders
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the store
- Detect and report signs of shoplifting and other security risks
- Operate store equipment including scanners, phones, and surveillance systems
- Open additional registers when necessary to ensure adequate customer coverage
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct or take messages
- Thank customers and invite them to return to shop at Lowe's
