Job Requirements
- ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25lbs
- ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- previous customer service experience at a performing arts or events venue preferred
- previous event management experience preferred
- previous supervisory experience preferred
- excellent decision-making and conflict resolution skills
- ability to remain calm and maintain composure during challenging situations
- ability to interact positively and sensitively with a wide variety of people in various settings
- a collaborative and team-focused work style
- ability to work with minimum supervision
- fluency in English required
- fluency in Spanish desired
- knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations preferred
- passion for the mission of New World Symphony and commitment to its values of community, respect, accountability, excellence and trust
Job Duties
- assist director of guest services and/or house manager in providing a positive and safe experience for patrons and guests at performances and rental events
- assist in preparation of briefings and sign-in sheets for event volunteers
- prepare scanners for ticket takers
- provide direction for volunteers
- communicate concert and event information to patrons and guests and answer questions
- assist director of guest services and/or house manager in resolving patron and guest issues or complaints
- assist with ADA requests or issues
- take the lead for performances/events as assigned
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
