Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three months related experience
  • Playing and/or coaching experience in basketball, soccer, or volleyball
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Access to a dependable motor vehicle
  • Maintain a satisfactory driver’s record and valid vehicle insurance
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Ability to travel for games, practices, and tournaments
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred
  • Knowledge of fitness equipment and exercise principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Positive leadership skills
  • Ability to operate independently
  • Experience coaching student athletes
  • Willingness to create social media content
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 20 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three months of related experience
  • Playing and/or coaching experience at high school, college, or professional level in basketball, soccer, or volleyball
  • Six months related experience preferred
  • Minimum two years coaching experience preferred
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Express software preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to use good judgment in dealing with the public
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to operate without direct supervision
  • Knowledge of fitness equipment and exercise principles
  • Willingness to be a role model and effective coach
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Ability to travel to games and tournaments
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Positive leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Job Duties

  • Organizational duties including fee collections, building security, building maintenance, and reception
  • Ensures Fitness Center is opened and closed on schedule, ensuring member and guest safety
  • Coordinates and monitors duties of evening and weekend student workers
  • Ensures health and safety of Fitness Center participants
  • Regularly spot checks and maintains cardiovascular and other fitness equipment
  • Cleans Fitness Center during scheduled hours including trash removal, cleaning restrooms, and gym floor sweeps
  • Assists with phone calls and clerical duties as needed
  • Registers guests and members, prepares membership applications, issues lockers and towels
  • Performs minor repairs on machines and equipment
  • Schedules staff and creates social media content for Club Sports and Fitness programs
  • Assists with administrative duties for recreation, intramurals, and club sports
  • Maintains compliance for local club leagues by updating rules, statistics, schedules, and rosters
  • Provides quality coaching and instruction to Club Sports participants
  • Identifies, recruits, coaches, and develops student athletes
  • Organizes game-day tasks and leads training sessions
  • Monitors academic progress of Club Sports athletes
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
