Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or associate degree with relevant professional experience
  • Valid California Community College Teaching Credential or equivalent
  • Sensitivity to cultural and academic diversity
  • Ability to maintain accurate class records
  • Capable of following institutional policies
  • Availability to teach at Monterey or Marina locations
  • Willingness to engage in equity-minded educational practices

Job Qualifications

  • Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience
  • Any associate degree and six years of professional experience
  • CA Community College Teaching Credential in the discipline
  • The equivalent qualifications with submitted equivalency forms
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students

Job Duties

  • Meet each scheduled class and teach or conduct learning exercises for the entire period
  • Contact the appropriate division chair or administrator in advance to make arrangements for unavoidable absences
  • Provide each student at the beginning of the course with written information about the course, including grading and evaluation criteria
  • Accurately keep required class records on attendance, withdrawal, and grading
  • Submit all necessary reports such as attendance and grade reports, roll books, and class information sheets on time and certify their accuracy
  • Comply with all institutional policies and procedures
  • Check faculty mailbox and MPC email frequently
