Job Description

The Neon Museum is a nationally accredited non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, studying, and exhibiting iconic Las Vegas signs for educational, historic, arts, and cultural enrichment. Located on a spacious 2+ acre campus, the Museum features an outdoor exhibition space known as the Neon Boneyard, the North Gallery which hosts the 360-degree light and sound experience "Brilliant! Job Requirements

  • Experience using Tripleseat Event Management Software preferred
  • Comfortable with technology and willingness to learn new software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Scheduling flexibility to work offsite, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful conditions
  • Ability to create and analyze basic and accurate business transactions
  • Ability to enforce Museum standards and policies effectively
  • Ability to manage situations calmly and professionally
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with diverse audiences

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Valid clean driver's license and use of car
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of associate's degree or event planning certification preferred
  • Minimum of two years' experience in event planning or event sales
  • Experience in production and execution required
  • Background in wedding planning, corporate events, group sales, and/or customer service highly valued
  • Experience using Tripleseat Event Management Software preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Perform sales and administrative tasks necessary to planning and production of successful events
  • Provide service and management of assigned events, including site-visits with clients, meetings, contract execution, vendor, and catering communication, set up/breakdown, and post-event follow-up with client
  • Maintain and safeguard all records, databases and files as directed, protecting confidentiality as required
  • Field inquiries about events and respond in a timely and accurate manner
  • Monitor venue for inclement weather and hazards, reporting safety and security risks immediately to senior management
  • Maintain a precise and manageable organizational calendar
  • Determine and execute appropriate responses to unforeseen problems during events
  • Resolve customer complaints fairly and in a timely manner
  • Continually seek efficiencies and opportunities to improve revenues and profitability
  • Analyze event experiences with a goal of improving future customer satisfaction
  • Prepare reports in a timely and accurate manner as requested
  • Travel to sites and locations as required
  • Pursue additional paid events through outreach and networking
  • All other duties as assigned
